January 27, 2011: Contractor Tutor-Saliba is about 260m into the east heading after 23 weeks of excavation on the fourth bore of the Caldecott Tunnel in Northern California. Its subcontractor, Foxfire, is expected to begin excavating from the west portal next month. The $420 million project received $197 million from President Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, commonly known as Federal stimulus funds, the largest Recovery Act allocation to date in the nation.
