Northern Boulevard ground-freezing support

April 11, 2013: Work progresses on the final lining of the short 120ft (36m) NATM tunnel under Northern Boulevard in Queens, New York on the East Side Access subway project. Construction required a complex ground-freezing program designed and executed by Moretrench to support excavation below the multi-mode transport corridor. During a site visit to the project the final lining waterproofing membrane was being installed and the ground freezing system was about to be turned off after successful excavation of the tunneled underpass.
