Normet's President Tom Melbye added: "QME has a long history in underground construction operations and practical knowledge in various mining processes."
Normet develops and manufactures tunnel and mining industry machinery as well as developing construction chemicals for underground processes such as mobile robotised concrete spraying.
QME has just completed a 7km development contract for New Boliden Tara Mines, Europe's largest lead zinc producer. It supplies services to the mining industry worldwide, and its Rebuild Division supplies remanufactured mining loaders, trucks, drilling equipment, personnel carriers and utility vehicles. The work involves disassembly, refurbishment, rebuilding and commissioning of specialist machinery.
