Mayr has introduced three new couplings to its range of high quality power transmission components for all types of underground construction machinery. In addition to servo couplings, Mayr also offer an ever expanding standard modular system and diverse solutions for safety brakes and overload.
Recent additions to the couplings product portfolio are; the ROBA-ES backlash-free, flexible elastomer couplings that compensate for radial, axial and angular shaft misalignment and protect the drive system against critical vibrations; the smartflex steel bellow coupling with solid force-locking connections, also backlash-free and with reliable torque transmission which ensures the maximum degree of misalignment compensation capability; and the ROBA-DS disk pack couplings with a split clamping hub to ensure simple and quick assembly even under adverse ambient conditions and the ability to transfer high torques with a comparatively small diameter.
“With our wide variety of versions, we create a high degree of flexibility for various applications and can provide solutions for all drive constellations in servo technology easily and quickly,” said Ralf Epple, Product Manager at Mayr. “For our customers, this means a large selection of servo couplings, short delivery times and favourable prices.”
Mayr can also provide solutions for even the most difficult cases with a product range that includes high-speed servo couplings with speeds of over 20,000 rpm and with individual parts manufactured to high accuracy, with constrained radial run-out tolerance and axial run-out deviation. As the couplings must be accurate and function reliably, extensive in situ tests are carried out. Mayr also provide global customer service.
In addition to shaft couplings, Mayr has developed and produced reliable safety brakes and overload clutches that protect machines against expensive overload damage. “As these are often used together, our customers appreciate receiving everything from a single source and so saving on additional suppliers and costs,” said Epple.
Mayr is a leading manufacturer of safety brakes, torque limiters and shaft couplings that are primarily used for electrically-powered machines and systems. With 600 staff in the Allgäu-based Headquarters in Mauerstetten, Germany, Mayr power transmission has over 1,000 employees worldwide. The company is globally established with plants in Poland and China, sales subsidiaries in the USA, France, Great Britain, Italy, Singapore and Switzerland and 36 further country representatives.
