The course will begin with a keynote session looking at the fundamentals of risk management with session chairs, John Reilly of John Reilly Associates, Don Del Nero of Stantec, and Bob Goodfellow of Aldea Services. The opening session will also include an Owners Panel, featuring representatives of Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, and the Southern Nevada Water Authority.

Other sessions on the agenda will explore recommended best practices, geotechnical risk, contractual approaches, insurance claims/disputes, cost/schedule risk, and Acts of God.

Scholarships are available for employees of government agencies involved in the planning, design and management of large underground construction projects. The scholarships are intended to provide training and education for those who have limited or no educational funds. Applications may be submitted online until 31 December 2019 and should include an explanation of how the applicant would benefit from attending the course. The scholarship covers the cost of a full conference.
