Fifteen students pursuing careers in civil and geotechnical engineering recently received scholarships from the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Educational Trust, the charitable organisation of DFI.
The DFI Educational Trust manages both school specific and at large scholarship programs each year funded by endowments, donations and fundraising events and has awarded $1.25 million in scholarships to more than 400 students studying at colleges and universities across the United States and the Province of Ontario, Canada since 2006.
The trust was set up to support and encourage those studying subjects related to the deep foundation industry by providing scholarships and opportunities to meet and work with industry leaders.

The Trust has recently elected Rudolph Frizzi to chair of the DFI Educational Trust Board. Managing principal and executive vice president of Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, and past president of DFI, Frizzi succeeds Tracy Brettmann, executive vice president of A.H. Beck Foundation Company.
Also recently elected as DFI Educational Trust officers are Vice Chair Zoran (Zac) Curanovic, Underpinning and Foundation Skanska; Treasurer James Johnson, Condon-Johnson and Associates; and Secretary Helen Robinson, GEI Consultants.
