Record order for Atlas Copco to Mexico Jul 2011
Atlas Copco News Release
One of its largest single orders has been secured by Atlas Copco. The Swedish construction and mining equipment giant will supply 87 machines, including face drilling, long hole drilling and rockbolting rigs to Mexican base metals mining group Peñoles.
The total $67 million order follows a $45 million order in January by the Peñoles-owned silver mining operation Fresnillo.
The equipment will be used by both Peñoles, which specializes in lead, copper and zinc mining, and Fresnillo.
Bob Fassl, President of Atlas Copco's Business Area Mining and Rock Excavation Technique said, "We are proud to be able to fulfill Peñoles' and Fresnillo's growing needs for equipment and service, and look forward to developing our relationship further during the coming years."
