In this way, Strata Worldwide is a purveyor of advanced technologies, both internally manufactured and third-party sourced, with the ability to train and support contractors who bid and build underground works. The company centers of activity are built around three categories:
At the core of StrataProtect is the safety of people in the underground environment. The line of Strata emergency refuge chambers offers a choice of portable steel-sided or inflatable units or in-situ safe rooms if required by a project. The proprietary HazardAvert system, which is designed for vehicle proximity detection and collision avoidance, is built on an electromagnetic platform providing Level 9 capability.
The Strata line of emergency and rescue breathing apparatus includes the Biomarine range of state-of-the-art self-rescuers and Trolex gas monitoring equipment. Strata remains the ideal technology partner for safeguarding underground personnel.
StrataConnect comprises a variety of tools and functionality that brings state-of-the-art surface communication to the underground environment. The range of equipment encompasses voice communication, personnel tracking, data transmission and overall connectability. The Strata networking options cover a variety of features that permit integration into existing networks to expand coverage and capabilities, including digitization of analogue systems. These technologies facilitate real-time telemetry and automation. As a network backbone, StrataConnect also offers seamless coordination with the StrataProtect offerings.
StrataGeotech is centered on the strata encountered in the underground working environment and includes a variety of durable and non-durable technologies for areal support of excavations with shotcrete, point support with hydraulic prop elements, modification of the groundmass properties to enhance stand-up time or fill voids, and control of groundwater either in groundmass or in the excavation work areas. These systems are supported by our specialist partners GCP Applied Technologies, US Concrete Products and RE-Systems Group Americas.
