Canadian consulting engineer Golder Associates is to purchase the assets and ongoing operations of the UK based Alan Auld Group. With headquarters in Doncaster, UK, and offices also in Canada and the USA, the Alan Auld Group has a particular an expertise in the design and construction of complex shafts. Acquisition by employee-owned Golder Associates will add to its business operations from 165 offices in more than 40 countries.
The acquisition transaction is expected to complete by mid-November 2017.
“Like Golder, the Alan Auld Group has built a strong reputation for developing practical solutions to complex challenges,” said Dr Hisham Mahmoud, Golder CEO. “The Group’s skills and resources are complementary to ours and will allow us to expand our market-share position and offer greater expertise to our clients.”
The Alan Auld Group was founded 20 years ago by Alan Auld to design mine shafts. The company has grown in the meantime to a complement of more than 75 professional engineering staff and provides tunnel and shaft design, as well as rehabilitation and project management services, for the power, water and transportation markets.
