The market for raise boring machines is growing in Central and South America and Australian based Terratec has seized the opportunity by opening a new office in Lima, Peru to service demand.
The new office will focus on sales of new machines, and offer ongoing servicing and maintenance to those already working there.
“There has been an upswing in the traditionally slow market in South America so we have opened this office to provide customers with our machines which are known for low maintenance and long life spans. Some of them have been operating for more than 25 years and our aim is to keep them running as smoothly as when they were first made,” said Bruce Matheson, Terratec Sales and Marketing Director.
The new office is located close to both downtown Lima and Jorge Chávez International Airport and will be overseen by John Alejos, Terratec Director of Operations in the region, who has more than 25 years of experience in the raise bore market and has worked for numerous contractors and underground projects around the world.
“The Terratec machines are in demand due to the simplicity of their design, which ensures robust performance underground and reliability,” said Alejos.
Terratec machines are currently being used for projects in Canada, USA, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Argentina.
