“Inauguration of the facility is an important step for Normet in India,” said Robin Lindahl, President and CEO of Normet Group. "This facility, where we have integrated most of our operations under one roof, will help us to serve our main customers better and at the same time help them to achieve their goals for productivity, safety and efficiency."

The inauguration was attended by guests of honour including Ramki Ramakrishnan, Chief Commercial Officer of Hindustan Zinc Ltd and management and support staff from Normet both locally and globally.

The opening of the new facility comes at a time when Normet Group is restructuring its organisation to better focus on customer needs.

It plans to simplify operations and flatten the organisation to allow for growth, improved efficiency and increased profitability.

Global sales are divided into four areas, each responsible for the entire Normet portfolio and led by:

  • APAC: Senior Vice President Neil Fitzmaurice
  • EMEA: Senior Vice President Jukka Kurhinen
  • North America: Senior Vice President Mike Rispin
  • Latin America: Senior Vice President Marcelo Anabalon

The business lines will stay the same, led by:

  • Equipment Business Line: Senior Vice President Kari Hämäläinen
  • Services Business Line: Senior Vice President Mikko Immonen
  • Ground Control and Construction Technologies: Senior Vice President Himanshu Kapadia

And joining the leadership team are:

  • Chief Financial Officer Riku Mäkinen
  • Human resources Vice President Niina Pesonen
  • IT and innovation Chief Digital Officer Sanna Pekari
  • Legal and compliance department General Counsel Kimmo Karihtala
  • Marketing and corporate development Vice President Riku Helander

“I believe the refined operational model with increased customer focus will help us to grow and scale our business profitably," said Lindahl. "These changes are fundamental building blocks to ensure a competitive cost structure and clear accountability.”

The new operating structure is effective from 1 July 2018 onwards.
