French producer of sealants and lubricants for tunneling, Condat, celebrates 30 years in the tunneling industry after launching in 1989 with the Channel Tunnel contract. Other landmark projects that have used Condat products include Groene hart, Port of Miami tunnel, SR 99 Seattle tunnel.

Its product range includes tail seal and main bearing greases, fire resistant hydraulic fluids, main bearing sealing products, foaming agents and polymers, additives for filling grout, additives for ground consolidation and many others, with delivery worldwide.

Condat recently developed a new grease for the main bearing with approval by Herrenknecht. Fully biodegradable and molybden free, BTG 4602 has been approved after a joint program of validation. Launched in 2018, it is being used on several TBMs, including the Grand Paris sites such as at the EOLE shipyard on a 11m slurry machine.

Condat specialized tunnel technical engineers, chemistry specialists and R&D tunneling department also help to overcome technological challenges and improve efficiency on jobsites using diagnostic analysis, ground studies, product consumption settings, together with technical support. Its products are Factory Mutual and MSHA certified, fire resistant and self extinguishing.

The company also designs and produces its products internally, thus ensuring consistent and reliable product quality and a thorough study and risk assessment of its product toxicology is also available to customers.

Committed to protection of the environment, Condat has switched its top-selling range of products to meet biodegradable OECD 301 standards since 2010, reducing products’ impact on the environment and on the excavated soil.
