Growing application of steel fibre concrete reinforcement in the USA is increasing demand for Dramix® fibres by Bekaert. To meet demand and meet the made and melted in the USA requirements, Bekaert has moved its fibre production to a larger, modern facility in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
The company will produce its range of Dramix® steel fibers at the new facility to supply steel fibres manufactured in the USA for all underground concrete applications. For steel products to comply with the made in America requirements, the steel must also be forged or melted in the USA.
The move of its fibre manufacturing to Wilkes-Barre in Pennsylvania will occur in Fall 2020 and will bring product supply closer to Bekaert’s main customers. Meanwhile support will continue from the Shelbyville facility in Texas.
