Management changes for international consulting firm Dr Sauer & Partners will see Brian Lyons take over as Managing Director of its UK headquarters in London and Gerald Skalla move to Toronto to build a new company office to focus on the Canadian market.
After 10 years leading the UK operations and as a Partner and shareholder of the company, Skalla will establish a fully staffed and operational office in Toronto and will continue to assist as Strategic Director in the UK to ensure a smooth transition to Lyons and retain continuity with existing projects and clients.
Lyons has worked at Dr Sauer & Partners in the UK for seven years and has headed major design contracts. These have included the upgrade projects for the London Underground Bond Street, Farringdon and Bank Stations. As an engineer and project manager, Lyons has experience of creating and managing specialist design teams and enabling collaboration and integration of teams in large multidisciplinary and complex infrastructure projects.
“I am looking forward to bringing design solutions to more British clients and markets and further fostering relationships with design and contracting partners on upcoming infrastructure projects. Dr Sauer & Partners is synonymous with tunnelling, but one of my key aims is to raise the profile for other services including geotechnical engineering and asset protection,” said Lyons.
“Over the past decade, the UK company has grown into a capable and trusted team, backed up by the worldwide capabilities and experience of the wider Dr Sauer & Partners group," said Skalla. "The UK team of expert tunnelling engineers has delivered great service on numerous successful projects. I am now excited to be taking my experience over to Canada, to see how we can expand further from the signature projects in Ottawa and Toronto."
Together with the established UK office and the new base in Toronto, the firm has a long established office in Washington DC in the USA and in Salzburg, Austria.
