Fine-grained sand deposits are notoriously difficult to condition, pre-treat or pre-grout, as efforts in Perth, Western Australia, are proving again. Once single grain-sized sand begins to flow there is very little for stopping it. If jet-grouting is the chosen method of pre-conditioning for stability, are there any secrets for ensuring success?
