The use of nuclear technology to generate electricity attracts extremes of opinion, but the construction opportunities it presents are undeniable. In addition to the underground pumping and cooling infrastructure that is so vital for today's water-cooled reactors, disposal of the growing international stockpile of nuclear waste material will generate future demand for enormous underground repositories.
