As the countdown continues towards launch of the world's largest TBM in Seattle for the Alaskan Way SR99 bored tunnel, it has not gone unnoticed that another Hitachi-Zosen machine for the San Francisco Bay Tunnel performed exceptionally well. Breakthrough was achieved eight months ahead of schedule after a reported problem-free drive.
