As the saying goes, money does not grow on trees! Large infrastructure projects have to be paid for somehow, and if end-users refuse to pay at least part of the bill in tolls then an indiscriminate tax on everyone is the only alternative. Getting the funding balance right is the tricky part, but improving connectivity in our cities is the great and long-lasting legacy.
