Washington State has been awarded US$57.2m in damages in a court case surrounding the two-year breakdown of the SR99 TBM. The jury decided that liability laid with the contractor, Seattle Tunnel Partners, despite the contractor arguing that the breakdown was a result of differing site conditions.
