Non-bolted, non-gasketed, single-pass wedge block concrete segmental linings were the standard for 2m-3m diameter water infrastructure in London Clay in the 1980s and 1990s. They resulted in high advance rates of up to 500m in a five-day week. Would they be permitted today under the street of London or accepted as an altenative to bolted and gasketed segmental linings, often now preferred or specified as part of risk assessment processes.
