The ability of a major contract to create wider economic benefit is often overlooked in the hard light of client budget cuts, but the impact is real. The trickle down benefit of main contract awards to the economy in general is what really generates the employment opportunities. From segment supply to shift change lunches, the ability of civil works to generate employment is welcomed this week with award of major contracts and the prospects of more to come.
