Public authorities and governments need to push ahead with infrastructure masterplans to ensure the projects function effectively and efficiently. Canceling or postponing sections of public transport or utility networks will for ever cause trouble and waste time, energy and money - until the missing pieces are eventually built. Adopting the masterplan and staying with it until it is all built providing the benefits originally envisaged must be the responsible way forward.
