From the Editor's Desk - 04 Jul 2019
The first cable tunnel in London in the early 1990s revolutionised the installation of vital electricity delivery infrastructure in the capital. There are now several hundred kilometres of cable tunnels under greater London and the alternative of burying cables under the surface of streets has become the disregarded option. The advantages of secure, non-disruptive, man-entry tunnels to house and effectively maintain high voltage cables has been, and continues to be, adopted by other countries of the world.
